Adjusting To The Bible

2 John 1:9 (CSB) Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.

I agree with the astounding 19th century Baptist preacher - Rev. Charles H. Spurgeon who said, “We do not adjust the Bible to the age, but rather with God’s help we should be adjusting the age to the Bible.” The foundation of everyone’s life is rooted in the scriptures. God’s teachings guide every generation – past, present, and future – through this everchanging world with its never changing authority, truth, and promises. To change anything that God has said in the Bible in order to accommodate the ways of this present age is to say that God does not matter and He does not exist. It is by our standing firm in every principle that is written within the scriptures that God can and will help us to show the lost and conflicted souls that there is Someone Worthy to live for – Someone Who desires to give them a better way of living. Anything that is outside of the Biblical teachings of Jesus is – Godless. This present age has a lot of adjusting to do.
