To See God in One Another: National Day of Racial Healing
Galatians 3:26-28 (NLT)
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew of Gentile, slave or free, male and female. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
As long as the stigmatism of racism continues in the hearts and minds of people who think they are as wise as God, there will continue to be a struggle to achieve racial healing. The insidious thought that one race is superior above all of the other beautiful races and cultures of people in the earth is completely ludicrous. This derisive tactic is the plot of the enemy. Racism is the root of cause of the cataclysm that the children of God endure in the social, economic, and political systems of the world. We know what the issue is...and so does God. And if we were not capable of overcoming racism, we wouldn’t still be here. Racial healing happens when race is not a factor in our desire to ‘not be selfish and to not try to impress others; but to be humble, and think of others as better than ourselves’ (Phil 2:3 NLT). And even more, when we accept Jesus Christ and all that God has proclaimed for all of His children in creation who receive our Lord and Savior – our eyes will no longer see racism. When we look at one another, we will see in each of us the Glory of God. Amen.
