Everlasting Strength
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (MSG) We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.
Has anything occurred in your life this week that was outright disheartening? I’m not talking about your car having a flat tire, or maybe a check you were expecting didn’t come in the mail. I am talking about something like a rude response from someone who may provide a public service within the community. Whether on the phone or in person, I more frequently have noticed how short, blunt, and rude customer service is in some places. It used to greatly anger me until the Lord helped me to understand that the power of His love is absent in many people. His love gives us an everlasting strength that allows us to bear with those who suffer without Him in their hearts. I encourage us to endure and to treat people right, because God’s power through us can help those who suffer within to see a better way of being for themselves and others - in us.
