God’s Property
Psalm 147:3 (NLT) See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Standing in the company of a husband and his wife, I watched the husband say to the bride of his youth, “You don’t own me. I own myself.” Y’all know your pastor. I had to catch myself before the preacher in me jumped out. I’m glad I behaved myself because the couple then began to laugh! The husband said, “Let me stop playing with God! I know that we’re God’s property, and nobody – especially me – can ever challenge that!” I want all of us to stop playing with God in the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of our words and actions. We are indeed God’s property, and no one can snatch us out of His protective hands. By walking in the light of this truth we can stay on the path that He has prepared for us. Amen.
